AKROTIRI

Located in the southwestern end of the island, 15 kilometers from Fira. During the Middle Ages was one of the castles of the island. Became world famous thanks to the prehistoric settlement discovered in the excavations, which began systematically in Spyros Marinated in 1967.

Things to do:

1. Prehistoric city.

Akrotiri was buried by the widespread Theran eruption in the middle of the second millennium BC ( Late Minoan IA period) as a result, like the Roman ruins of Pompeii after it, it is remarkably well-preserved. Frescoes, pottery, furniture, advanced drainage systems and three-story buildings have been discovered at the site.

2. Red beach

The red beach is one of the most famous and beautiful of the beaches of Santorini. It is located near the village and ancient site of Akrotiri.

3. White beach.

You can come to the White Beach by boat, from Akrotiri or from the Red Beach, unless you are in the mood for walking, (there is a steep path from Kampia).

4. Kampia beach

To go to the beach Kambia should follow the road to Akrotiri and just before you enter the village turn right, on the way to Lighthouse, the sign to Kambia.

5. Mesa Pigadia beach.

You can get there on foot but also with a good car or for instance a quad. Another way to reach the beach is with the small boats that depart from Akrotiri area (just in front of the Archaeological site).

6. La Ponta

A 13th century tower, is located within the Venetian castle (Kasteli) of Akrotiri.

7. The lighthouse.

Is one of the best in Greece. It can be found 18 kilometers from Fira at an altitude of 58 meters.

8. Giorgaros restaurant.

A real fisherman restaurant, near the lighthouse.

AKROTIRI

Situé à l'extrémité sud-ouest de l'île, à 15 kilomètres de Fira. Pendant le Moyen Age a été l'un des châteaux de l'île. Est devenu mondialement célèbre grâce à l'habitat préhistorique découvert dans les fouilles, qui ont commencé systématiquement à partir de Spyros marinées en 1967.

Choses à faire:

1. Ville préhistorique.

Akrotiri a été enterré par l'éruption Theran répandue dans le milieu du deuxième millénaire avant JC (période en retard de Minoan IA) à la suite, comme les ruines romaines de Pompéi après, il est remarquablement bien conservé. Fresques, poteries, meubles, systèmes de drainage de pointe et des bâtiments de trois étages ont été découverts sur le site.

2. Plage rouge

La plage rouge est l'un des plus célèbre et magnifique des plages de Santorin. Il est situé près de la place du village et d'Akrotiri.

3. Blanc plage.

Vous pouvez venir à la plage blanche par bateau, à partir de Akrotiri ou de la Plage Rouge, sauf si vous êtes dans l'ambiance pour la marche, (il ya un chemin escarpé de Kampia).

4. Plage Kampia

Pour aller à la plage Kambia devrait suivre la route à Akrotiri et juste avant l'entrée du village, tournez à droite, sur la route de phare, le signe de Kambia.

5. Plage Mesa Pigadia.

Vous pouvez y aller à pied, mais aussi avec une bonne voiture ou par exemple un quad. Une autre façon d'atteindre la plage est avec les petits bateaux qui partent de la zone Akrotiri (juste en face du site archéologique).

6. La Ponta.

Un tour du 13ème siècle, est situé dans le château vénitien (Kasteli) d'Akrotiri.
